Introducing...

New this month is 5 Sparrows for 2 Cents, a new album from the relatively new hip hop group The Procussions. It marks the first release from the 'New' Rawkus Records since that label dropped off a few years ago.

from Okayplayer...
This much anticipated follow-up to the independently released "As Iron Sharpens Iron" has already gained critical acclaim before its release date. This may be because members Stro, Rez and Mr.J.Medeiros have already been in the eyes, mouths, and ears of people all over the globe as they’ve toured heavily with their new single "The Storm" and "Miss January" feat. Talib Kweli. How can a group from Colorado Springs Colorado can manage to record with artists like Talib Kweli, Ahmad Jones, Afrobots etc. and pop up everywhere there is a stage (i.e. Japan, Australia, France, E.U., Canada , your back yard)? It is no wonder once you hear their music and feel the power of their performance.

Kick Back and Dig

Another eventful weekend spent in the city, this time including fistfights and cops as a couple of my boys decided to take on a couple Jap dudes in some live-action Street Fighter II: Drunk Edition. Ah, I'm gonna miss those Saturday nights in the city.

I saw X-Men 3 last night and its surprisingly quite good. Then again I've always been a fan of the comic book, so it didn't take much to impress me. I'm easy like that.

I was at Universal Studios Japan for the fifth time on a school trip last Thursday. It was a hot one and this Pinoy is now a nice shade of golden-brown. It was fun, and as always, the turkey leg at the Jurassic Park area is the shit.

The World Cup is nearly upon us and being from where I'm from I could care less. (June is for the NBA Championship, people!) But apparently its a big deal for the rest of the world, so in keeping with the shits and giggles of the good times ahead, I've drawn South Korea as my team in our World Cup pool. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, with the powerhouse Koreans on my side, I can pretty much kiss my money goodbye.

That's all for now. It's hot and I need a beer.

Later.

Home Stretch

I'm back after a two-week trip to Canada followed by 5 days off for Golden week and I'm now in the final leg of my time here in Japan. The week in Vancouver was the shit as expected and I have the extra pounds, the damaged liver, and the weed feenin' to prove it. Also a reminder to myself, go and get some Vera's Burgers next time I'm through Vancouver. Winnipeg was also awesome although most of what happened during and after the wedding reception remains a haze. Speaking of haze, a shoutout to that Jenna Haze-looking chick who worked the reception.

Its hot and I'm lazy to write anything more.

Later.

p.s.
View more of my pics that my boy Ron is hosting for everyone's enjoyment.
