Fried Chicken in a Cup, Booger Boy, and Iron Mike
So I just got back from Kyoto where I went and saw Gion Matsuri. Its the annual festival where huge wheeled shrines are pulled around Kyoto's main shopping district while hundreds of thousands of people (like this little boy who had snot going in and out of his nose) line the streets and watch. Its also an excuse for the same hundreds of thousands of people to get drunk as fuck in public, something which is perfectly legal in Japan and pretty much encouraged. And there is no better drunken festival food than my favorite, the good ol' chicken-on-a-stick-in-a-cup...chicken karaage.Wandering the city on Sunday, we came across an art exhibit put on by the Kyoto Artspace. Young artists from all over the Kansai region came to present, perform, and create some quite imaginitive and interesting stuff. From the Tyson graffiti portrait, to the funny/creepy girls in the masks clowning around, to the hot photographer with the Nikon in one hand and an Asahi Super Dry in the other, the Kyoto Artspace made the trip for me.
Later.
